Portland is an idyllic city located in the northern most part of Oregon in the Pacific NW. Here you are minutes away from many awesome outdoor events and activities. Multnomah Falls,and the Columbia River are minutes away. Mt Bachelor and Mt Hood are a short drive east, as are many smaller ski mountains. The beautiful Oregon coast is a short, 90 min drive west. And the Willamette river runs through Portland. Portland is known as the City of Roses and also has many bridges that connect East Portland and West Portland. You may see "Keep Portland Weird" stickers affixed to cars around here. This is to urge you to support local businesses that help make Portland unique and interesting. In the summer, there are numerous outdoor markets open around the greater Portland area as well as the Portland Saturday Market that is open almost year round. There are also many great outdoor music festivals in the summer; blues, jazz, brew fest, zoo concerts, something for everyone. Oregon also has a pretty impressive collection of wineries, mainly located in the Willamette Valley region as well as some great wine festivals where you can sample some of Oregon's finest.
